Today will be a very challenging day, I’ll have a very important meeting (wish me good luck!). Since I have no time to write a new article I decided to publish this editorial. I hope you like it! Good day to all of you!.

I couldn’t sleep on Saturday night so, as I was lying in my bed staring at the ceiling, I came up with the idea of a character, specifically Anna Wintour’s sister. So I started thinking about her personality, her style, her physical appearance and her history. Sunday at 5 am Ludmilla Wintour was born.

Ludmilla was born on Nov 3rd in 1949, just like her sister Anna. Identical twins, linked by the same passion for fashion, since they were little always had a clear mind as to what do once grownups : Vogue America’s editor.

Always dressed alike, full on bangs and bob, they wouldn’t play with dolls just like any other girl their age, they set up castings for all of their toys, including stuffed animals, and they created they neighbor magazine on which they commented on everyone’s outfits, criticizing each and everyone.

Their parents let them do whatever they wanted, they neither went along with their wishes or stand in the way of their dreams, they stood aside, thinking that, sooner or later they would stop thinking about such frivolous stuff and would go ahead and take up Medicine or Law.

As time went by, the passion got greater. At highschool hey convinced the headmaster to create a fashion page inside the school

journal, their articles were much appreciated by both students and teachers and their outfits were a continous source of inspiration for all of their mates.

Nothing seemed to be stopping the bright future of the twins who thought they were a step from the making of their dream.

Once out of high-school though the duo split. While Anna gets to be Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Ludmilla, taken over by her sister, becomes the director of Gevou, a french fashion magazine.

Once tight-knit by a mutual passion, now worst enemies separated just by their biggest dream.

As you may have noted, the two do not get along, they hate each other so much that they decided to live in two different continent. Ludmilla lives in Paris, with her cat named Pigro (Lazy) while Anna lives in New York, in a penthouse in a stunning skyscraper. They neither ever call each other or send Xmas postcards. At their parents’ funeral, they even showed up at different times in fear of running into each other. Well, they really abhor each other!

How come noone knew about Ludmilla? why didn’t she manage to become Vogue’s editor? Why is her cat’s name Pigro? We’ll find out in the next update…

I loro genitori le lasciavano fare, non assecondavano né ostacolavano i sogni delle loro figlie, stavano in disparte pensando che prima o poi avrebbero smesso di pensare a cose così frivole e si sarebbero iscritte a Medicina o a Giurisprudenza.

Finito il liceo però le strade delle due sorelle si dividono. Mentre Anna riesce a diventare la editor-in-chief di Vogue, Ludmilla, spodestata dalla sorella, diventa la direttrice di Gevou, un fashion magazine francese.

Prima sorelle affiatate unite da una passione comune, oggi acerrime nemiche divise proprio dal loro più grande sogno.

Come avrete già capito fra le due non scorre buon sangue, si odiano talmente tanto da aver deciso di vivere in due continenti diversi.  Ludmilla infatti vive a Parigi assieme al suo gatto Pigro mentre Anna vive a New York in un attico all’ultimo piano di un bellissimo grattacielo. Non si telefonano mai né si fanno gli auguri a Natale. Addirittura al funerale dei loro genitori hanno partecipato alla funzione in tempi diversi per paura di doversi incontrare. Insomma, si detestano proprio!

Catene, collane di perle, rondini, loghi Chanel in varie declinazioni che, una volta trasferiti sulla pelle, hanno un effetto 3-d grazie a un gioco di chiaroscuro.

LES-TROMPE-L’OEIL-DE-CHANEL è il kit ‘casalingo’ per riprodurre il look a casa senza sforzi e senza versare neanche una lacrima per il dolore! Il kit è già disponibile nei mono-stores Chanel, da Selfridges e online al prezzo di 75$ (49£) per una collezione di 55 tatuaggi-adesivi.

La senior MAC Cosmetics artist Chantel Miller ha creato per Rodarte tatuaggi Maori sulle modelle e Marchesa ha proposto ‘calze tattoo’ per la prossima stagione AI2010.

Quindi, quello che eravamo soliti fare da bambini, con i finti tatuaggi delle gomme alla fragola (ammettilo, lo facevamo tutti!) è ora alta moda.

Raise your hand if you’ve never made a wrong purchase, who has never bought a dress thinking it’d perfectly match a pair of shoes you’d previously bought just to realize it looked horrible? no-one really?
Ages spent buying clothes, shoes, accessories never worn had me acquiring a certain experience as far as ‘smart shopping‘ goes and in the last few months I can say I finally came up with the right method.
Thinking about all the times I bought a garment, that after having been worn once or twice was put back into my closet makes me cringe. So, at the end of last year I went ahead and adopted some systems.

First of all we need to separate ‘necessary shopping‘ and ‘therapeutic shopping‘.

‘Necessary shopping‘ is that kinda shopping you do when you desperately need to purchase something because you no longer have anything to wear in your closet, or when you have a big event coming up and need to have something brand new. On the other hand, ‘therapeutic shopping‘ is what you do when you’re sad and you need to shop to cheer yourself up.

When you’re doing ‘necessary shopping’ always bring with you that pair of shoes or the garment you wanna match to your new purchases, it’s gonna help with your choice. Don’t get yourself down if you don’t find what you’re looking for after visiting hundreds of stores. Rather than buying randomly, get back home and try again a few days later, persistence will reward you!

When you’re doing ‘therapeutic shopping’ instead, try not to buy clothes or shoes which are too expensive, limit yourself to a few accessories. When we’re down, shopping is our worst enemay, we’re not into the right mood to accomplish our shopping tourer, a necklace or sexy lingerie are more than enough.

Finally when you’re shopping always remember the ‘CSHB‘ rule : comfy CLOTHES, SNEAKERS, tidy HAIR, huge BAGS. Four key rules to cope with one of the most pleasant and stressful day for a woman.

Qualche mese ho pubblicato una piccola e divertente guida su come fare shopping il primo giorno dei saldi, in questi giorni ho pensato di scriverne un’altra su come fare shopping senza stress e senza errori, spero vi piaccia!

Innanzitutto dobbiamo fare una distinzione fra “shopping necessario” e “shopping terapeutico“.

Quando fate “shopping necessario” portate sempre con voi il paio di scarpe o il capo che avete intenzione di abbinare ai nuovi acquisti, vi aiuterà nella scelta. Non vi demoralizzate se dopo aver girato 100 negozi non avete ancora trovato nulla, piuttosto che comprare alla cieca tornate a casa e riprovate qualche giorno dopo, la perseveranza premia! Quando invece fate “shopping terapeutico” cercate di non comprare capi e scarpe troppo costose, limitatevi a qualche accessorio. Quando siamo giù di morale lo shopping è il nostro peggior nemico, non siamo nel giusto stato d’animo per affrontare al meglio un tour di compere, una collana o un completino intimo sexy sono più che sufficienti.

Infine quando fate compere ricordatevi sempre del “VSCB” : VESTITI comodi, SCARPE da ginnastica, CAPELLI in ordine, BORSA capiente. Quattro regole fondamentali per affrontare al meglio una delle giornate più belle e stressanti per una donna.

Last Saturday I attended the presentation of the Brioni’s fall winter collection.

Unfortunately I could not take pictures during the fashion show but here is some photos taken backstage before the presentation. I hope you like them!

Adoro curiosare dietro le quinte delle sfilate perché è qui che accade tutto. La sfilata vera e propria è solo una piccolissima parte di tutto il lavoro di preparazione e presentazione della collezione: la lavorazione dei vestiti, i casting, le prove, il trucco, …..

Sabato scorso ho assistito alla presentazione della nuova collezione di Brioni di cui vi parlerò nei prossimi giorni.

Purtroppo non sono riuscita a scattare foto durante la sfilata perché le luci rovinavano ogni foto, ecco però alcune foto fatte nel backstage prima della presentazione.

Le modelle erano tutte sedute per terra a parlare e di tanto in tanto qualcuna usciva per andare a prendere un caffè o un gelato. Una è arrivata in ritardo e tutti gli addetti si sono fiondati su di lei per truccarla e sistemarle i capelli in pochi minuti. In pratica il backstage era un caos, fra vestiti, scarpe, operatori, via via di persone, non si capiva un cavolo!

As I said two days ago, I was invited to the presentation of the new FW collection by Angelo Marani, here’s how it all turned out.

Just like every morning I wake up at 7.15, count to 25 (don’t know why, but I’ve been doing it for years), I get up and go to the kitchen, get my cookies, blueberry jam and a knife and I head to my trusty laptop in order to read the latest fashion news and write a new article for Pigchic.

At about 9 I realize I’m last , as usual, and throw myself in the shower singing Tik Tok out loud and dancing like crazy. After tiding up the house, trying to fix my hair and putting on my outfit, I get everything ready for the show and I get out of the house with a map and my invitation in hand.

The traffic is so intense that the bus is late and it’s already 11.20 (the show was scheduled at 11.45), after several minutes of waiting here it comes, I get on and…

the race against time begins!

13 stops on the 43 line, 2 stops on the 78 line and here I am in Via Gattamelata. I check on my watch and it’s past 12! I change clothes in the middle of the street, slip off my Mickey Mouse socks and my All Stars, slip on my favourite pair of sandals and I run to the main entrance.

Luckily the show was not started yet, so after catching on my breath I settle in one corner of the room and set my camera ready. Five minutes later the show begins.

To the tunes of Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Nicks, Freddy Mercury and David Bowie, Angelo Marani’s models walk through the runway wearing clothes inspired by folk and bohémian style. The collection is, indeed, an homage to the 70ies, the groupies and the hippies.

Brocate Jackets, huge skirts and patchwork jeans switch to black leather leggings, lace baby dolls and floral dresses. In this colour , print and textiles bonanza matched with extreme stylishness and sensuality the accessories come into the limelight as well. We’re not missing wooden clogs, huge wide-brimmed hats and jewel-like clutches which fulfill a very fascinating collection.

Angelo Marani’s woman is a gipsy of the new millennium : she loves matching up clothes from the past reassessed in a more sensual and modern way, keeping up that quirky gipsy and glam rock spirit that sets her apart from the rest.

Come vi ho già anticipato due giorni fa sono stata invitata alla presentazione della nuova collezione autunno inverno di Angelo Marani, ecco come è andata.

Come ogni mattina mi sveglio alle ore 7.15, conto fino a 25 (non so perché ma è da anni che lo faccio), mi alzo dal letto e vado in cucina, prendo le gallette di riso, la marmellata ai mirtilli e un coltello e mi dirigo verso il mio fedele portatile per leggere le ultime notizie di moda e scrivere un nuovo articolo su Pigchic.

Verso le 9 mi accorgo di essere come sempre in ritardo e sulle note di Tik Tok mi butto in doccia cantando a squarciagola e ballando come una matta. Dopo aver finito di sistemare la casa, cercato di dare una “forma” alla mia chioma e scelto cosa indossare preparo tutto l’occorrente per la sfilata ed esco di casa armata di cartina e invito.

Il traffico è così intenso che il pullman non arriva più e sono già le 11.20 (la sfilata era prevista per le 11.45), dopo vari minuti di attesa ecco che arriva, salgo e….

la corsa contro il tempo inizia!

13 fermate con la 43, 2 fermate con la 78 ed ecco che arrivo in Via Gattamelata. Guardo l’orologio e sono le 12 passate! Mi cambio in mezzo alla strada, tolgo i calzini con stampata la faccia di topolino e le All Star, mi infilo il mio paio di sandali preferiti e corro verso l’ingresso del padiglione.

Perfortuna lo show non era ancora iniziato così dopo aver ripreso fiato mi sistemo in un angolo della sala e preparo la macchina fotografica. Cinque minuti dopo inizia lo show.

Sulle note di Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Nicks, Freddy Mercury e David Bowie le modelle di Angelo Marani calcano la passerella indossando capi ispirati allo stile folk e bohémien. La collezione è infatti un omaggio agli anni 70, alle groupie e agli hippie.

Giacche in broccato, gonne ampie e jeans in patchwork si alternano a legging neri in pelle, baby doll in pizzo e vestiti con stampa floreale. In questo tripudio di colori, stampe e tessuti abbinati con estrema eleganza e sensualità anche gli accessori vogliono la loro parte. Non mancano zoccoli in legno, enormi cappelli a tesa larga e clucth gioiello che completano una collezione già di per sé affascinante.

La donna di Angelo Marani è una gitana del nuovo millennio: ama abbinare capi del passato rivisitandoli in chiave più sensuale e moderna mantenendo sempre quel pizzico di spirito gipsy e glam rock che la contraddistingue.

All kidding aside, the new collection designed by the Italian stylist is really charming: a perfect mix of eccentricity, irony, irreverence and femininity which conveys into 5 different capsule collects: the Fabrics Touch line, composed of “tronchetti”, boots and pumps that take inspiration from the typical masculine fabrics such as Pied de poule e il gabardine; the Play Luxury line is composed of sporty-chic reassessed decolletées; the Lucio Fonatana line, dedicated to the painter himself and composed of provocative and sassy models with a glam-rock feel to it; the horse-riding line composed of cuissardes with vertiginous heels and ballet flats with a horseshoe-shaped buckle and lastly, the Charleston line composed of fringe sandals that play with lines and colors.

The head model of the whole collection is the Lipstick Heel shoe, inspired by yesterday and nowadays big divas, characterized by lipstick-shaped heels in red and nude hues, paying an homage to Dolce Vita and to beautiful Anita Ekberg’s scarlet lips.

What else, the collection is really wonderful and I’m sure that we’ll soon be seeing celebrities sporting these shoes. I am already thinking about grabbing the Lipstick heel! Santa, if you’re reading this blog right now, be aware that with these shoes on, I’d be the happiest woman on Earth, make your choice! ;D

Giovedì sono stata invitata alla presentazione della nuova collezione di scarpe dello stilista Alberto Guardiani. Purtroppo (o perfortuna?) non conoscevo questo stilista e appena entrata nello show room ho pensato “cosa mi sono persa!?”.
Dovete sapere che io ADORO le scarpe particolari, più sono stravaganti e più mi piacciono e la maggior parte dei modelli disegnati da Guardiani hanno fatto breccia nel mio cuore e adesso non riesco più a smettere di pensare a loro!

A parte gli scherzi la nuova collezione disegnata dallo stilista italiano è davvero affascinante: un mix perfetto fra eccentricità, ironia, irriverenza e femminilità che si esprime in 5 differenti capsule collections: la linea Fabrics Touch composta da tronchetti, stivali e pumps che traggono ispirazione dai tipici tessuti del guardaroba maschile come il Pied de poule e il gabardine; la linea Play Luxury composta da decolletée rivisitate in chiave sporty-chic, la linea Lucio Fontana dedicata all’omonimo pittore e composta da modelli provocatori e irriverenti dal gusto glam-rock; la linea Equitazione composta da cuissardes dal tacco vertiginoso e ballerine con fibbia a forma di ferro di cavallo e per finire la linea Charleston composta da sandali con frange che giocano con le linee e i colori.

Modello di punta dell’intera collezione: le scarpe Lipstick Heel, pumps ispirate alle grandi dive di ieri e di oggi caratterizzate dal tacco a forma di rossetto intercambiabile nei toni del rosso e del nude. Un omaggio alla Dolce Vita e alle labbra rosso scarlatto della bellissima Anita Ekberg.

Che dire, la collezione è davvero bella e sono sicura che molti modelli li vedremo presto ai piedi di importanti celebrities. Io sto già facendo un pensierino per le Lipstick Heel! Babbo Natale se stai leggendo il blog in questo momento sappi che con queste scarpe ai piedi sarei la donna più felice al mondo, vedi un po’ te cosa fare ;D.
