She is Veronica Ferraro, a young girl which lives in Milan and studies literature at the University of Milan. She loves watching Lost (me too!) and recently she opened a blog, The Fashion Fruit,  which has already proved very successful.

She has a very “taste of glamour” and her blog is full not only of photos about her outfit but also fashion and trend news, for these reason I decided to interview her. I hope you like it!

1. You study literature at Milan, you like photography and fashion and you love watching Lost. Tell us something about you that we do not know…
I adore writing, especially in the evening, which is when I’m most inspired. The first blog I started is actually a collection of my writings, and only recently I thought about starting another one about fashion. I really love sushi and cinema, which are also my ideal night out, perhaps with my boyfriend or my great friends. “When I grow up” I would like to put together my interests about fashion and writing, becoming a fashion editor. This blog is just the first, shy, step towards this direction. And it is very promising!

2. Why did you choose “Fashion Fruit” as title of your blog?
I have a wild passion for drinks (soft drinks, and sometimes also alcoholic ones if it’s the right moment) with passion fruit. I wanted a name which had to be both simple and effective, playful and that told something about myself at the same time. When it came to my mind to replace passion with fashion, it seemed so adequate and right on spot that I immediately discarded all of the alternatives.

3. You love customize your clothes and accessories, how come you have this passion? An what is your last creation?
I find the very idea of being, if you allow me the term, “stylists” for oneself to be the most immediate and effective way to give my outfits that personal touch everyone is looking for and can’t achieve. Customizing an item of clothing or an accessory is usually quick and cheap and wearing something I tweaked myself gives me a gratification far away from what I have buying something that everyone else can have. The last time I looked at Balmain, which I adore and always follow with great interest, and added a pair of rigid shoulder pads to a dress, mimicking its style.

4. What is your favorite song?
Stairway to heaven, a timeless classic, in the original take by Led Zeppelin. Many other beautiful songs come and go, but this one is always a hit.

5. Which fashion magazine you read most often?
If I have to strictly consider the frequency with which I read magazines, the first place goes undoubtfully to Vogue. Every time I can, however, I try to find something more peculiar like Numéro and V magazine. You can’t state one is more interesting than the others, the best way is to take your time, go to a newsagent (better if well-provided, like Mondadori in c.so Vittorio Emanuele) and flip through many of them, choosing what it seems to be most interesting.

6. What are your favorite accessories?
I could never leave my bags, it may seem trivial but it’s true. An outfit without the right bag is just
incomplete, not counting the fact that, without one, I couldn’t carry all of the items I need or I want to have with me.

7. What are your sources of inspiration?
I think that a single source, allowing one to always find items which fit their style, can never exist. I love to hand-pick every item in my outfits, and what I need is to come across as many as possible clothes and accessories. I read many fashion magazines and I daily read a great number of blogs, like Who What Wear and, obviously, Pigchic! I also find my inspiration while walking by the streets, picking items I like in other people’s outfits or browsing shop windows.

8. What beauty products you recommend to readers of Pigchic?
For the care of my face skin, after trying many other products, i finally found the best option to be Capture Totale by Dior. The same make is also my choice when it comes to foundation and mascara, while I prefer Chanel for it’s fabulous lipsticks and eyeliners.

9. What plans you have for the future?
The next step is to graduate on Lettere moderne; then, find a suitable journalism school in the USA and proceed step by step to fullfill my dream of becoming a fashion editor. It’s been less than a week since I started the Fashion Fruit and the inital feedback has already convinced me to be on the right track, I really enjoy what I’m doing and I want to fully commit myself for my wonderful readers. Lei è Veronica Ferraro, vive a Milano, frequenta la facoltà di Lettere presso l’Università Statale di Milano, adora guardare Lost (anche io!) e da poco ha aperto un blog , The Fashion Fruit, che ha già riscosso molto successo.

Mi piace molto il suo stile e secondo me ha un vero “taste of glamour” e inoltre il suo blog è ricco non solo delle foto dei suoi outfits ma anche di interessanti notizie di moda. Per questi motivi ho deciso di intervistarla, spero che l’intervista vi piaccia!

1. Frequenti la facoltà di lettere presso l’Università Statale di Milano, ti piace la fotografia e la moda e adori guardare Lost. Dicci qualcosa di te che ancora non sappiamo…

Adoro scrivere, soprattutto di sera, momento in cui sono più ispirata. Il primo blog che ho realizzato è una raccolta di miei scritti, infatti, e solo successivamente ho pensato di crearne uno per parlare di moda. Amo alla follia il sushi ed il cinema, che infatti rappresentano anche la mia serata ideale, magari in compagnia del mio ragazzo o dei miei ottimi amici. “Da grande” vorrei riuscire ad unire le mie passioni per la scrittura e per la moda, diventando giornalista di moda. Il blog non è che il primo, timido, passo in questa direzione. E promette bene!

2. Come mai hai scelto Fashion Fruit come titolo del tuo blog?

Ho una passione sfrenata per i drink (analcolici, ma anche alcolici se è la serata giusta) a base di frutto della passione, passion fruit appunto. Volevo scegliere un nome semplice, di impatto, che fosse giocoso e trasmettesse qualcosa di me al tempo stesso. Appena mi è venuta in mente l’idea di sostituire passion con fashion mi è sembrato così adatto da eliminare tutte le alternative e decidere al volo.

3. Ami molto customizzare vestiti e accessori, da cosa deriva questa tua passione e quale è l’ultima tua creazione?

Trovo che l’idea di essere, se me lo concedi, un po’ “stilisti” per se stessi sia il modo più immediato ed efficace per dare quel tocco personale agli outfit che molti cercano e non riescono ad ottenere. Modificare un capo o un accessorio è spesso veloce ed economico e vestire qualcosa che ho personalizzato con le mie mani dà una soddisfazione ben diversa dall’acquistare un capo che chiunque altro può avere. L’ultima volta mi sono ispirata a Balmain, che adoro e seguo sempre con molto interesse, ed ho aggiunto un paio di spalline rigide ad un vestito, imitandone lo stile.

4. Quale è la tua canzone preferita?

Stairway to heaven, intramontabile classico, nella versione originale dei Led Zeppelin. Molte altre belle canzoni vanno e vengono, ma questa è senza tempo.

5. Quale fashion magazine leggi più spesso?

Se devo guardare strettamente la frequenza con cui leggo le riviste, al primo posto troviamo sicuramente Vogue. Appena riesco, però, cerco qualcosa di più particolare come Numéro oppure V magazine. Non si può decidere a priori quale sia la più interessante, non c’è come andare in edicola (magari una molto fornita, come Mondadori in c.so Vittorio Emanuele) e sfogliarle per trovare ciò che più ci interessa.

6. Da quale accessorio non ti separeresti mai?

Dalle mie borse, banale ma vero. Un abbigliamento senza la borsa giusta non è completo, senza contare che non potrei mai trasportare in altro modo tutti gli oggetti che mi servono o che mi piace avere a portata durante la giornata.

7. Quali sono le tue maggiori fonti di ispirazione?

Penso che non possa esistere una singola fonte in cui trovare sempre cose adatte al proprio stile. Amo fare per conto mio abbinamenti e scelte, perciò quello che mi serve è vedere il maggior numero di capi ed accessori possibili. Leggo molte riviste di moda e seguo quotidianamente un gran numero di blog, come Who What Wear e, ovviamente, Pigchic! Spesso trovo ispirazione anche camminando per strada, cogliendo dettagli che mi piacciono dagli outfit delle persone che mi circondano e osservando le vetrine.

8. Quali prodotti beauty consiglieresti alle lettrici di Pigchic?

Per la cura e la protezione della pelle del viso, dopo molti tentativi, ho finalmente trovato un prodotto valido a cui affidarmi in Capture Totale di Dior. La stessa marca è anche la mia principale scelta quando si tratta di fondotinta e mascara, mentre prediligo Chanel per i fantastici rossetti e per le matite per gli occhi.

9. Che progetti hai per il futuro?

Il prossimo passo è prendere la laurea in Lettere moderne; in seguito frequentare un master in giornalismo negli USA, e proseguire passo passo per realizzare il mio sogno di diventare una giornalista di moda. E’ passata poco meno di una settimana dal lancio di the Fashion Fruit e il successo iniziale mi ha già convinta di essere sulla strada giusta, quello che faccio mi piace un sacco e voglio impegnarmi a fondo per i miei lettori.
