Balenciaga Resort 2011

There sure are some haters of the new Resort collection 2010 from Balenciaga, and some even accused the maison of copying many details from other brands. On the other hand, I’ve been really impressed when I caught a glimpse of this triumph of prints, hues and patterns a few days ago.

Nicolas Ghesquiére created a line that took inspiration from Cristobal himself, reinterpreted optical and plain minimal cut prints in a techno bohéme mood. All in all, an actual jump from past to future, that lives up to the expectations and confirms once again the creative genius of Ghesquière hims.

C’è chi ha fortemente criticato la nuova collezione Resort 2001 di Balenciaga, e chi addirittura ha accusato la maison di aver copiato in molti dettagli le altri griffe. Io, invece, sono rimasta davvero colpita quando qualche giorno fa ho visto questo tripudio di stampe, colori e fantasie.

Nicolas Ghesquiére ha creato una linea che si ispira ai capi cult creati dallo stesso Cristobal, e rivista in chiave techno bohème stampe optical e uniformi dal taglio minimal. Un salto dal passato al futuro, insomma, che non tradisce le aspettative e conferma ancora una volta l’estro creativo di Ghesquière.
